CITRIS Headquarters in Sutardja Dai Hall

  • The new CITRIS headquarters in Sutardja Dai Hall adds approximately 141,000 gross square feet of space for research laboratories, including a large Microfabrication laboratory, the administrative center for CITRIS overall as well as the Banatao Institute@CITRIS Berkeley, the Dado & Maria Banatao GLOBE Center, laboratories for collaborative research, offices, a 149-seat auditorium, conference rooms, and the Qualcomm CyberCafé.

  • The Sutardja Dai Hall was constructed using concrete with a high volume of coal fly ash, which releases signifcantly less C02 into the atmosphere that the standard portland cement.
  • Dr. Dan Garcia (CS) had a camera located in Soda Hall and collected high resolution images for a Time-Lapse experience of the building construction.
